Storage Cards Versus Online Storage

Storage Cards Versus Online Storage

Likewise should you lose your personal data this would likely include things such as photographs of family and friends and happy memories, essays, and even stories and pictures you've made. This is all highly sentimental stuff that you just can't get back and which would be a great shame to lose. As such you should look into some form of backup.

There are two very popular options here - one is the use of a 64GB SDCX card to backup your data, the other is the use of an online storage service to back up your files online and give you 24 hour access to them this way.

There are strengths to using either system, and it is generally a matter of preference. However where possible it would be better to use both systems and to this way be able to store your files in two places and be even more secure in the knowledge that you're unlikely to lose all copies

With online storage you can't lose or forget your storage device. It's always online and it's up to you to simply remember your access codes to get on there. This means that even when you're unprepared and not expecting to need your files, you can still get online to use them and it won't matter than you didn't have the foresight to bring something with you. However at the same time, storage cards are also so small that you can have them with you at most times. This is Also a big advantage when you consider that it's common not to be able to find internet access when you are travelling. With a storage card All you need to literally do is to put it in your pocket or wallet and then you'll have access to all your files on almost any device.

There are more benefits to a 64GB SDCX though. One of these is that it can be used by devices that don't even have internet connectivity, another is that they are much faster when compared to many devices that do - it's generally much quicker to get something off of a memory card than it is to load up the internet and then log into your online storage and download items. You can also use your 64GB SDCX in more versatile ways - for example you can install programmes onto it, especially on things like phones and netbooks and can run them from there - which is something you certainly can't do with online storage.

With online storage you get almost unlimited storage space, and this of course has it's uses. However at the same time you have to pay a monthly fee for this, whereas a 64GB SDCX card is a one off payment for something that will store almost anything you have on your computer. If you need more space - then you can simply buy more cards - as they're so small and practical it won't be a problem.

As such then you should really use both to have the best possible back up system. However if you can only afford one, then it's the 64GB SDCX card that is the crucial one of the two.
